Powerboat Level 1
This course provides a basic introduction to power boating and is suitable for children. During the course students will learn about basic safety equipment and the use of a kill cord. Students will also learn basic boat manoeuvres including, starting, stopping, leaving and coming alongside as well as securing to a mooring buoy.

Powerboat Level 2
This course is designed for beginners and existing powerboat users and teaches you to become a competent skipper of powerboats up to 10m in length during daylight. The qualification can be used to apply for the International Certificate of Competence. The emphasis of the course is on safe boat handling in harbours and out at sea. You will learn how to moor up, manoeuvre in tight spaces, recover a man overboard and skills to handle a planing boat at speed

Intermediate Powerboat
This course covers the practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day in coastal waters using both traditional and electronic navigational techniques. Intermediate Powerboat builds on knowledge gained in the Powerboat Level 2 course and is suited to those who are aiming to drive larger and more powerful powerboats. The course puts into practice navigation theory techniques, cruising at planing speeds and more advanced boat handling. It is an ideal course for those looking to explore the Channel Islands further during daylight.
